In addition to tax matters, Mr. Medinets oversees a wide range of issues including real estate, insurance regulation and corporate law. Before joining Madison, Mr. Medinets was in private practice for over 20 years, focusing on real estate, small businesses, municipal land use and § 1031 exchanges. Mr. Medinets holds a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Virginia and a Juris Doctor from the University of Santa Clara. He is a member of the New York and New Jersey Bars. A noted lecturer and author on the subject of §1031 exchanges, Mr. Medinets is also a Certified Exchange Specialist® (CES®) and an active member of several Federation of Exchange Accommodators (FEA) committees, including the CES® Council, Government Affairs Committee, Continuing Education Committee and Tax Advisory Board.
